Quote/link feature for discussions
Hey fam,
I was about to post an update on the JustHODL initiative when I ran into an idea that I don't know if is already possible. Since I want to share updates every now and then so the community can see the progress about the initiative, it will be hard to keep a line of time and thread of events since every post will be lost in time and between different discussion. My idea is to be able to ''quote'' or ''link'' a post with another, here are the 2 ways I thought about:
- To be able to call a post using @postID in the post you are writing and be able to ''embed'' either as a card or button the post you are calling.
- To add a button that shows what par of the thread that post is or to show there are more of one part. People could easily explore the whole thread and if you are able to follow a post would be great! Image below is an idea.
I think this could enhance the discussions and invite people to ''build in public'' through the sharing of a building process, also would invite people to share quality content to create community and have valuable discussions with other builders.

Link posts with each other is a feature in the developing phase, please stay tuned.
Discuss Kit already supports embedding posts from same site or another site powered by Discuss Kit, just paste the post link it will prompt you to expand, see following screen shot.

I just tried this option but it shows another post, I was able to embed the link but it doesn't show a preview, my idea was more of created a card like the one in the image but with the link you use. I don't know if I'm using the tool wrong or it is a bug.
"Card-style" embed is only supported for blog posts created using Discuss Kit, since a blog post have all it needs to render a card:
For discussion thread you can try "Create bookmark" from your above screenshot to see if it satisfies your needs.
