Question on Blocklet distribution + DID Space billing

discussion

Hey team — we’ve been having some great public conversations around DeBOS, DID Space, and capacity, and it’s led us to think more concretely about distribution and billing.

Our intent is to launch and operate our own Blocklet storefront, where we sell DeBOS directly to customers, rather than relying solely on the official ArcBlock Blocklet Store. We’d like to understand the supported patterns for doing this cleanly and in alignment with the platform.

Today, we’re paying for our Blocklets directly (e.g. ~0.05 ABT per Blocklet per day). For DeBOS, our goal is to:

  1. Sell DeBOS from our own store at a flat USD subscription price (e.g. $50/month).
  2. Handle licensing, plans, and customer billing ourselves.
  3. Include a baseline amount of DID Space with the subscription.
  4. Meter DID Space usage via the DID Space service.
  5. Pay DID Space costs from our own ABT-funded wallet on behalf of customers, instead of requiring customers to manage ABT directly.
  6. Reconcile internally (USD in → ABT out), while keeping DID Space ownership fully with the customer.

We’re hoping to get guidance on:

  • Whether operating an independent Blocklet storefront (outside the official store) is supported and recommended.
  • How this model should coexist with the official Blocklet Store (e.g. install flow, updates, permissions).
  • What APIs or primitives exist (or are planned) for querying DID Space usage programmatically.
  • Whether an organization or Blocklet-level wallet can be used to pay DID Space costs on behalf of users.

Our intent isn’t to bypass the platform, but to reduce onboarding friction for non-crypto-native businesses, keep pricing predictable in USD, and still preserve DID ownership, transparency, and portability.

Any guidance on supported patterns, constraints, or best practices would be hugely appreciated. We’re happy to align with whatever the platform considers the “right” way to approach this.

Thanks — and really appreciate the clarity the team has been bringing to these discussions.
