Criteria for Main Store approval and reward pools?
Hello Arcblock Team and You,
Can you please clarify if there is particular criteria that has to be met in order to gain approval into the official store. I know there has been an influx of submissions made. As a builder it is important that we know before hand what the likely hood of a particular app being accepted into the store is. By having a clear understanding of the criteria we can better understand what amount of resources to spend on it.
As for the reward pool, if the idea right now is to basically allow all apps, regardless of complexity and uniqueness, then I think as builders we will be incentivized to use less resources on them. In terms of the reward pool, as it is right now, a person who was considering building something that took more than a week, would be at a great disadvantage, to people who are building apps that take a couple hours.
Is this by design? Does Arcblock want to have a wave of these "low-level" apps enter the store? Is that a bad thing?
Will this be a funneling of Blocklets into the official store, where there are a lot at first then the criteria is turned up for future reward pools?
Personally, I'm building no matter what. I know that the creative and enterprising opportunities of Arcblock are bigger than this reward pool. I'm not writing this to complain about any bodies creations or the rules. This is an activity that as a community we participate in, and for the sake of comradery I think its important that we speak candidly and openly, as neighbors 🙂
These are some thoughts and questions that have come to my mind recently. If anybody from the community or the team felt like adding some perspective I would love to hear.
Thanks,

Here are the basic guidelines we use for review:
We are reviewing and will update the above guideline, and maybe add more when necessary.
Thank you. My interpretation of this documentation is that beyond technical and legal discretion, the utility of a blocklet does not weigh that heavy on the decision making process. This is great, because as of now, most of us would not be able to get our blocklets to be used by others without the main store.
I've recently began to turn my music in blocklets. The entire purpose is to allow others to stream my music via blocklet.
My question is, will these blocklets, having met all of the techincal and legal requirements, be allowed into the main store?

For the official store, we will undoubtedly establish some review guidelines. We prefer not to have an attorney impose extensive rules; instead, we wish to develop the guidelines gradually in collaboration with our community.
A few principles:
Currently, the ArcBlock team serves as the sole reviewers. However, our long-term goal is to establish a community-driven review board to undertake these evaluations. This board will be compensated from the revenue generated by the Blocklet Store.
Thank you z1oHa79x3H6vxv9hfW8bHczPmwHKfAaRRmS for clarifying.
Let me first say, please no lawyers🙏🏿.
Secondly, I think this usage based reward system is more aligned with the intention of producing high quality apps.
Lastly, while I’m bummed out that my content centric blocklets may not have as easy a way into the store as others, I understand. Nevertheless we will find a way to get these out to the world, and it is going to be glorious! Blocklets are a superior medium in the realm of digital art and the adoption of them by artists will be one of the driving forces in ABT gaining more recognition.
I’m excited to hear about the goal of creating a community driven review board. That sounds like a great opportunity for folks to get involved.
Thank you again for clarification. I think I have a better understanding of where my talents can have the biggest impact and reap the most reward.
To clarify, any blocklet accepted into the official Blocklet Store must be a functional "application," not merely a wrapper for digital content, including but not limited to:
A resource blocklet containing digital media as a "resource pack" to extend the capabilities of other blocklets can be accepted, such as resources for creating NFTs or themes/skins for other functional blocklets. The creator must ensure they possess the legal rights to utilize any included digital content and bear full responsibility for them.
