Now that the platform has few users, how do you go about judging the quality
Push forward on the right direction, and we will eventually get there, 😄
长期来看应该有个更完善规范的规章,
比如分为参与奖和成就奖:
100个ABT根据数量进行分配;
I’m glad that the devs are considering this issue. the answer to me seems obvious. Quality over quantity.
Rewarding quality is how you develop the platform into something that stands out.
Rewarding quantity is how you quickly turn this into a race to the bottom.
It is unreasonable to believe that one person with 20+ apps is going to continue to develop them. It would seem like they are just being used to gather rewards after which point they will never be touched again. How could they? It takes so much time to maintain one, no person could on there own maintain this many.
Many of these apps seem like they were lifted off of other platforms, with no regard. Not even mentioning the original source or design team makes them feel like stolen ideas. Similar to “knock-off” designer purses you would purchase for less knowing that they are of lesser quality.
Rewarding original, unique and apps with high utility is how to attract new developers, at least in regards to the reward pools. If it takes a team of people to develop an app, or takes one person multiple weeks to develop an app that serves a purpose, surely they should stand to be rewarded something similar to a person who turns out 30 smaller, redundant apps that have been copy and pasted.
We are already meeting so much resistance in getting people from the community to use the apps. By creating an environment that id flooded with apps that have been copy and pasted, the situation is being created where now users will have to search harder to find unique ones with utility.
I know this sounds like I’m hating on other peoples work. Really though I’m just being honest. As soon as I saw people turning to the copy and paste method, my desire to make apps during this cycle was diminished. It make the community chat have a spam like feel and only made it harder to communicate.
With so few developers in the group to be rewarded, honestly, we could have each made a few and still stood to gain a nice size reward. It seemed unnecessary to resort to copy and pasteing just to get a larger piece of the pool. Do we really want to be taking food out each others mouths like this? We should be building each other up, not in a rush to get over on each other. This is a situation similar to the voting rewards being gamed by somebody making multitudes of fake wallets. Why? To take from our neighbors?
I understand this is an evolving process and again I’m thankful that we are being asked to give input.
Thank you.
You're right, I actually don't want to carry a lot of useless games, but it has to be done to get more rewards. But unfair rewards can discourage innovators.
I also agree. was developing many original apps until I saw others adding games, so I had to adapt to “stay in the game”
Not that there’s something wrong with games, but Twelve raised a great point
This is a crucial moment to make decisions and it is great that you are bringing this up. For me there's a difference between farming and getting rewarded.
+Farmers will bring quantity. Since the goal is to get as much allocation as possible no matter how. +Builders work to be rewarded so they focus on quality and adding value.
Question here is. Which one does Arcblock want to attract?
I think Arcblock wants to attract builders, so I would say quality over quantity. And we need to define a evaluation system or key points that will define the quality of the blocklet.
Some ideas:
I respect every person's effort and time but it is obvious that the goal of this reward system is not being fulfilled if it is going to reward people pushing anything they can, just to get as much as possible in. Even the team that is working to check blocklets will be overloaded checking stuff that is not thought to have a use case.
On the other hand rewarding quantity will demotivate people building more thoughtful stuff since they will never be able to compete in quantity considering that there's a whole idealization and building process to publish one blocklet.
Thanks for bringing this up and let's keep building!
I think a clear criteria of what constitutes quality will be critical as the ecosystem grows. A key part of quality has to be "potential", which is hard to measure because you never know what types of apps will get adoption. Sometimes very simple games that aren't "high quality" so-to-speak grow really fast.
That said, I'm confident that the team is and will continue to be thoughtful about judging the quality of what gets rewarded.
I would love to pay my dayli needs with Did through Satispay wich I use a lot here in Italy.
