ArcBlock Official Blocklet Store Rating Rules

This is an update to the ArcBlock Developer Contest Extension and Review Standard Update , and is open for suggestions and improvements.

At ArcBlock, we have always believed that high-quality applications are the cornerstone of ecosystem development. To encourage developers to submit more quality blocklets, we have established a point-based review system to ensure that submitted blocklets effectively meet our principles and standards. This article will provide a detailed introduction to our scoring criteria, the rules for reviewing ported blocklets, and the principles we adhere to.

Blocklet Rating Rules

Our review system primarily evaluates the following aspects, and the score for each aspect will directly affect the final rating of the blocklet. The scoring details are as follows:

  • Utility: Award 10 points for satisfactory blocklets, outright reject those with no practical use.
  • User Experience: A polished interface earns +2 points; a rich set of features adds another +2 points (for example, combining multiple related games into one, or including multi-level games). Basic usability does not earn additional points, while excessively simplistic designs may result in outright rejection.
  • Copyright Protection: +2 points for completely original work, -2 points for projects based on open source without proper licenses, and direct rejection for obvious infringements and licensing issues (e.g., popular game copies)
  • Build on ArcBlock: Each completed item earns +3 points
    • Integration of Blocklet SDK/UI: includes integration of user systems, standard front-end and back-end UI, preferences, and more.
    • Integrating DID Connect: includes logging in with a wallet and using front-end and back-end SDKs to implement specific business processes.
    • Integrate DID Spaces: including storing application data and user data in DID Spaces
    • Integration of Verifiable Credential: This includes the issuance, verification, and presentation of VC.
    • Integrate NFT: including minting, verification, and display of NFTs
    • Integrated Staking: For example, staking Tokens/NFTs
  • Composability: Each requirement met +3 points
    • Integrate Discuss Kit: includes the use of front-end components and back-end interfaces, with reference to the integration in Vote
    • Integrate Media Kit: Use front-end components to upload resources
    • Integrate [Payment Kit](https://store.blocklet.dev/blocklets/z2qaCNvKMv5GjouKdcDWexv6WqtHbpNPQDnAk\): Utilize front-end components and back-end services to directly leverage the payment capabilities of Payment Kit.
    • Integrate Point Up: Including the management and display of user points
    • Extend Pages Kit: can include custom components and page templates
    • Extend AIGNE Studio: It can be a custom Agent, LLM Adapter, or Knowledge
    • Extend NFT Studio: Potential NFT template materials
  • Decentralization: +2 points for each met criterion, -2 point for each unmet criterion
    • There is a need for independent deployment, which will generate user data.
    • Applications are self-contained and do not rely on external services.
  • Promotion Friendly: most of these can be updated in Blocklet Studio
    • Logos, screenshots, titles, and descriptions will only be accepted once the basic requirements are met.
    • Having an introductory video earns +2 points; the video can be hosted on a third-party platform.
    • Having a live demo earns +2 points; the live demo should not use the default DID Domain. It can be just one page and can be hosted on Builder Playground.
    • Users can earn +2 points for having a support site. A support site can be the developer’s personal site, preferably hosted on the ArcBlock Launcher or on a node operated by themselves, and the default DID Domain should not be used.
    • Extra score can be earned through frequent updates, specifically when the submission undergoes more than 4 updates per week after submission. We expect developers to maintain concise and high-quality applications in the long term, rather than submitting them and neglecting further maintenance.
  • Build in Public: +5 points for having an open-source repository that includes real source code, -1 point for having an open-source repository without real code; this criterion does not apply to non-original applications.
In addition, we have the following stricter review standards for none-original blocklets
  1. Are there copyright issues?
  • Copyright issues: Direct rejection (e.g., commercial software from others, reverse-engineered software protected by copyright)
  • No copyright issues: Acceptable (for example: software licenses allow use, implement classic games independently)
  • Uncertain Copyright Status: Can We Protect Ourselves Through DMCA?
    • If possible: accepted
    • If not: rejected
  1. Is there proof of work?
  • No proof of work: rejected (such as simple copy paste)
  • Has Proof of work: accepted (for example, self-implementation of learning outcomes from other platforms' software, improvements to open-source software, etc.).
Finally, the Handling of the Evaluation Results
  • Blocklets that receive a final rating below 6 points will not be accepted in our official store, and those already published will be removed immediately.
  • Blocklets that receive a final rating above 30 points will be eligible for official store recommendations and featured articles on the official website.

应用评分细则

我们评分系统主要从以下几个方面进行评估，每个方面的分数将直接影响应用的最终评分。评分细则如下：

  • 提供效用：满足则给 10 分，没有实际用途的直接拒绝
  • 用户体验：界面精致的 +2 分，功能丰富 +2 分（比如把多个小应用组合为 1 个，多关卡游戏等），基本可用则不加分，过于简陋则直接拒绝
  • 版权保护：完全原创的 +2 分，基于开源项目但无授权问题 -2 分，存在明显侵权、授权问题的直接拒绝（比如流行游戏的拷贝）
  • 构建基础：满足的每项 +3 分
    • 集成 Blocklet SDK/UI 等：包括集成用户体系、标准前台和后台 UI、偏好设置等
    • 集成 DID Connect：包括使用钱包登录、使用前端和后端 SDK 来实现特定业务流程的
    • 集成 DID Spaces：包括存储应用数据、存储用户数据到 DID Spaces
    • 集成 Verifiable Credential：包括 VC 的颁发、验证、展示，需要有应用特色，使用标准的 Passport 不适用于此条
    • 集成 NFT：包括 NFT 的铸造、验证、展示
    • 集成 Staking：比如 Token/NFT 的质押
  • 可组合性：满足的每项 +3 分
    • 集成 Disucss Kit：包括使用前端组件、后端接口，参考 Vote 中的集成
    • 集成 Media Kit：使用前端组件来上传资源
    • 集成 Payment Kit：使用前端组件、后端服务，直接使用 Payment Kit 收款能力的
    • 集成 Points：包括用户积分的管理、展示
    • 扩展 Pages Kit：可以是自定义组件、页面模板
    • 扩展 AIGNE Studio：可以是自定义的 Agent、LLM Adapter、Knowledge
    • 扩展 NFT Studio：可以是 NFT 模板素材
  • 去中心化：满足的每项 +2 分，不满足的每项 -2 分
    • 有独立部署必要，会产生用户数据
    • 不依赖外部服务，应用是自包含的
  • 推广友好：下面这些属性都可以在 Blocklet Studio 中设置
    • Logo、截屏、标题、描述满足基本要求后方可被接受
    • 有介绍视频的 +2 分，视频可以托管在第三方平台
    • 有试用地址的 +2 分，试用地址不能是临时地址，不应该使用默认的 DID Domain，可以仅是1个页面，可以托管到 Builder Playground
    • 有支持站点的 +2 分，支持站点可以是开发者个人站点，建议托管到 ArcBlock Launcher，或者自己运行的节点上，不应该使用默认的 DID Domain
    • 有频繁更新的额外加分，我们期望开发者长期维护少而精的应用，而不是提交之后再也不维护
  • 公开构建：有开源仓库的且包含真实代码的 +5 分，有开源仓库但不包含真实代码 -1 分，如果非原创应用则不适用此条

另外，针对搬运型的 Blocklet 我们有以下更严格的审核标准

  1. 是否存在版权问题？
  • 有版权问题：直接拒绝（例如：他人的商业软件、反向工程有版权的软件）
  • 没有版权问题：接受（例如：软件的许可证允许使用，自行实现经典游戏）
  • 未知版权状况：是否可以通过 DMCA 方式保护我们自己？
    • 如果可以：接受
    • 如果不可以：拒绝
  1. 是否有工作量证明？
  • 无工作量证明：拒绝（如简单搬运）
  • 有工作量证明：接受（例如：自行实现其他平台软件的学习成果，开源软件的改进等）

最后，对评分结果的处理

  • 应用最终评分低于 10 分，则不会被我们官方应用商店接受，已经发布的会直接下架
  • 应用最终评分高于 30 分，或获得官方应用商店推荐资格、官方网站介绍文章

这种怎么理解，将开源项目转为blocklet本身算不算工作量

开源项目转 Blocklet 首先要没有版权问题，然后是需要有对应的仓库，这里面肯定蕴含着工作量。

However, can’t help but think, how will the team be able to assess all the blocklets in a timely manner after the competition ends? This sort of thing sounds like it would take another month to assess all blocklets😂

What’s the maximum number of points a blocklet can make, assuming it hits all the criteria it can from the list mentioned above. 71 points?

^ is the live demo on Builders Playground just for the team to see? Or does it have to be linked In blocklet description? If it has to be linked (with markup language)…i think that defeats the purpose of having a blocklet launched, because then people can just press the demo link and use the full blocklet on builders playground server domain easily without launching from blocklet store

The live demo should be set to "homepage" in Blocklet Studio, so that users can view this before install

^ I assume this is a one off +4 points reward for the blocklet right? It wouldn’t make sense to add +4 points weekly lets say if you made more than 4 updates per week Infinitely…

How does this apply for original AIGNE made application with no code but prompts only? If i make a repo for a blocklet like that, will I be penalised -1 points? Considering AIGNE dApps have no code

Here are a few updates to the rating rules for the final review round:

  • We're giving a little extra love to original blocklets with a bonus of +10 points for each one that qualifies.
  • If you've been keeping your blocklets fresh with frequent updates, you'll earn an extra +1 point for every 5 versions you publish on https://store.blocklet.dev.
  • And for those who have put in a ton of effort to grow their blocklets, whether by building a community or a business around them, there's a big bonus of +100 points for each qualified developer. We'll be announcing more details about this in another post soon.
