Im curious as a node how do we know when to update our bridge. As of now another Node sends me a message.

Since ArcBridge Node requires all nodes runs the same version in current design, every node needs to keep up to date so that it can be selected as a block proposer or verifier.
Please note that automatic update check does not update the node automatically, it just sends you a notification (email, wallet) when a new version is available.
